MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a substance made from organic sulfur compounds. Since the human body consists of 0.2 percent sulfur , it can be said that sulfur is a vital element for us.
For comparison: the body contains five times more sulfur than magnesium and forty times more sulfur than iron . But why do many people care about an adequate supply of iron and magnesium but no one cares about an adequate supply of sulfur? Dosage information
The recommended dosage based on studies is between 0.5 grams and 4 grams daily. For general precautionary reasons, higher dosages should be used under medical supervision. Sensitive people start with a low dosage and slowly work their way up to the dosage that provides the best possible relief for their symptoms.
In the MSM studies, fasting was used, which is why we recommend this. Do not take MSM right before bed as it may increase energy levels in the body.
Taking MSM during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be discussed with a doctor or alternative practitioner.
MSM is occasionally also injected under the skin or – like DMSO – added as an ointment. Please ask your therapist in particular about this.
Taking vitamin C can enhance the positive effects of MSM .

If gastrointestinal irritation occurs with gas formation and frequent bowel movements, reduce the dosage and increase the intake step by step.
Detoxification reactions in the body may occur within the first 10 days of use. These include digestive problems, fatigue, headaches or skin rashes. If you observe these reactions, stop MSM, wait a few days and start taking it again. Slowly approach higher dosages.
The effects of MSM occur at different speeds. It depends on the type of illness, the severity of the symptoms and the symptoms. The first positive effects should be noticed within 3 weeks.
